What is Qigong?

Tai Wu Qigong dates back to over 4,000 years. Qigong is an ancient Chinese health care system that integrates physical postures, stretching, breathing techniques and focused intention. The word Qigong (Chi Kung) is made up of two Chinese words. 'Qi' is pronounced chee and is usually translated to mean the ‘life force’ or ‘vital-energy’ that flows through all things in the universe. ‘Gong’ is consistent effort/practice. So you must put forth the effort to build chi/qi. You need to practice

Benefits of Qigong include:

  • Stress relief

  • Pain relief

  • Lowers blood pressure

  • Increased stamina and vitality

  • Enhanced immune system

  • Improved cardiovascular, respiratory, circulatory, lymphatic, and digestive functions

  • Improved balance and flexibility

  • Enhanced sleep

Unique to qigong is its ability to train the mind to direct the body’s energy, or chi, to any part of the body. It is believed that, when moved correctly, chi can bring your body to a natural state of balance. Leading to a relaxed mind, muscles, tendons, joints, and inner organs leading to improved health and healing.  It’s practiced widely in China’s clinics and hospitals
