The Eagle
The Eagle's main historical emphasis has been characterised by its seizing and locking techniques of the joints, throat and bone structure. It is a renowned symbol of strength in Chinese history. Power is not applied directly, however, grab becomes pull, push or deflection. Relying on technique instead of brute strength, this animal style suits the smaller physique practitioner. Movements are emphasised as elegant and graceful, travelling lightly until the point of impact where they suddenly become intense grabs or punctures. This requires a good understanding of human anatomy. |
